FluorLite® Protein Meter

The meter excites tryptophan in dairy proteins with ultraviolet light at 280 nm and measures fluorescence near 350 nm. Because non-protein nitrogen does not fluoresce, the result is a true protein measurement, unaffected by NPN. Advanced optics automatically compensate for permeate solids from 1 to 10 percent, ensuring accuracy even in challenging conditions.

A standard 50 ml sample is collected, poured into the stainless-steel sample cup, and positioned on the meter. Press “Measure,” and results appear within 10 to 40 seconds. No disposables are needed, no plant calibration is required, and a built-in thermistor corrects for temperature variations. Designed for both lab and at-line use, the instrument combines ease of use with robust construction.

The FluorLite Protein Meter detects protein concentrations as low as 0.005 percent and up to 0.5 percent, with readability to 0.001 percent. Validation mixes are available for quick confirmation of calibration. Results are consistent and repeatable, with a standard error of prediction below 0.01 percent protein.
